Lau ANNOUNCES NEW BENEFIT FOR CIRRUS OWNERS

Deductible will be waived for in-flight deployment of ballistic parachute recovery system.

 

Seattle, August 31, 2009:  London Aviation Underwriters, Inc. (LAU) today announced that it would waive the entire deductible for owners of Cirrus aircraft who deploy their ballistic parachute recovery system in-flight.  This expansion of coverage will take effect immediately for all Cirrus owners who insure their aircraft with LAU.

 

“We can put the endorsement on as soon as possible, and let it be known that on existing policies we will apply such generosity to future claims, even though we may not have added such an endorsement,” said Michael Charlesworth, LAU Founder and Chairman of the Board.

 

Other insurers have limited their deductible waiver to $1,000.  LAU will waive the entire deductible.  “The additional cost in settling a claim is immaterial - this should save lives,” added Jeffrey Sutton, LAU President.

 

LAU has insured a significant number of Cirrus owners over the years and has found it to be one of the safest aircraft in production today.  LAU believes that proper training and attitude of Cirrus owners have contributed more to this safety record than the parachute recovery system.
